This World Water Day we wanted to find out how people value water.
This year’s World Water Day holds a heightened significance given we are going through a global pandemic. The theme for WWD 2021 is “Valuing Water,” which sheds spotlight on the ultimate value of water, supporting the UN global agenda on clean water & sanitation, as envisioned through SDG 6. Awareness 360 has played a crucial role in sensitizing hard-to-reach communities about the long term value of clean water, sanitation and hygiene.
In observance of the World Water Day, our team approached people from many walks of life, asking their perception on water and relevant issues. We asked what water means to them, how many glasses of water they drink everyday, the sources of water they have access to, what challenges they face in relation to accessing clean water, their thoughts on water pollution, handwashing habits and much more.
Watch this video to get a glimpse of some responses.
We sincerely hope we all realize the true value of water and be mindful of our daily actions to remain safe and healthy. We also urge governments and decision makers to increase their efforts and investment on WASH, so that everyone has access to clean, safe water – a basic human right.
