Project “Help Kids Read”, Somalia

On 26 August 2018, team Awareness 360 Somalia went to Basbaas college at Mogadishu, Banadir, Somalia to conduct project “Help Kids Read.” Our team provided stationeries such as books, pens, etc to over 85 orphan children at the college and spent a day full of fun with them. It was a great opportunity to see how the community needs us. Some of the children shared some deeply touching stories about their life. To mention one in particular: “…this is the only home I have.”

The team also gave advice on how education can change their fate, and how it has changed the fate of many before them. The kids were happy and thanked Awareness 360. We are grateful to the administration for being very helpful and cooperative. The project lies in line with the UN’s SDG#4 Quality Education. The goal of this project was to help children of BasBaas college stay in school by providing them with necessary learning materials. A huge shout out to our Somalian Country Ambassador AbdifFatah and his team for pulling off this project successfully, despite all hurdles and security concerns in the city. #Awareness360 #SayYEStoChange #Awareness360Somalia #AwarenessArmy #SDG4 #QualityEducation #UN #GlobalGoals #SDG
